Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This camera will help my students connect with their community by capturing pictures that represent the diversity in the city of South Gate and surrounding cities. Through photography, my AP Language students, can become more knowledgeable on their culture. There is no access for students to use a professional camera to complete cultural projects for their Spanish class. The Latin American culture is full of color and with this camera the students can capture great photography that can be used to school projects, pamphlets, and/or school displays.

Our school is a STEAM school in where the T stands for technology and the A stands for arts, yet neither my students or myself have the technology necessary to complete art based projects.

This camera can also allow me to insert photography in my lessons to activate prior knowledge and have more engaging activities with my students. I can also utilize this camera to capture school events and promote a positive school culture.
