My Project

Culturally relevant literature and hands-on activities keep students engaged. Identifying with characters in a book helps students to relate to the literature. Culturally relevant books draws students in and creates a love for reading. Learning about people who look like them improves their self-esteem.

Representation matters!

Students engage with books more when the characters represent them and their culture. Students also learn better when they can actively engage with the content. Puzzles and STEM activities cultivate an unforgettable learning experience.

My goal for this project is to provide engaging STEM activities and culturally relevant books for my students. I want them to develop a love for reading and an interest in problem-solving and engineering. Engaged students learn better and enjoy coming to school. I want school to be a fun and enjoyable experience for each of them.
