My Project

As a part of our 7th grade curriculum we read the novel, Monster written by Walter Dean Myers. It is a novel that teaches the students about the American justice system. After a few years of reading this impactful novel, many of the books are torn and missing pages. The condition the books are in has hindered their understanding of the messages provided in the book. Unfortunately due to many budget cuts, there is a lack of funding for the school to provide new books. I am requesting your generosity to help me provide students with a copy of the book and classes will share based on having the course at different times of the day.

As a school in New York City and the novel taking place in New York City, we are able to take the students on a field trip to visit a courthouse and sit in courtrooms similar to what they have read about.
