Our school library collection needs to be updated in order to ensure every student is not only represented, but equally represented among all students. We have books that represent a lot of our students' cultures, but not all.
Our library collection has the potential to grow in a way that will support the future citizens we want to have leading us one day.
I have found so many amazing books through DonorsChoose that will help us make great strides toward this goal. When this project is complete, every student that walks through our library doors will know that this is their library.
Along with the books, we would like book buddies, plush toys that can be used to represent the stories. We also re-tell stories using hand puppets.
