My Project

The 24 students in my 5th grade class have a special love for reading. With the variety of reading levels that my students are on, I find it essential to provide them with books they will not only enjoy, but will also be able to understand. Books in this project are focused on cultures and celebrations. My students love to learn about and celebrate all different holidays that are special around the world, these books will allow me to teach about different cultures and holidays, including the Lunar New Year that is coming up shorty. My students are especially excited to learn about the Lunar New Year because they are interested in the Chinese zodiacs.

My goal is to incorporate books that they are interested in in order to teach my students about different cultures around the world.

As the Lunar New Year is approaching, the books in this project allow me to do that.

The materials in this project will ensure that my students are becoming better readers as well as learn about different cultures. The different levels and styles of books in this project will allow students to access books on their levels and strengthen their reading skills.
