My Students

"Creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way," stated Edward de Bono. My students are eager to identify patterns and create their own ways of looking at their world!

My first graders are filled with curiosity and creativity, yearning to explore their world.

They are at a perfect age to probe for patterns across the curriculum and begin to take a look at their personal perspective of the world. My students love art in all its forms and would appreciate the opportunities to make ideas jump off of their paper and into the classroom and beyond.

My Project

These art supplies such as watercolor and tempera paints, markers and beads will allow students to experience art in all areas of academics with our first grade focus on patterns in music, math, drama, science, and literature. Students will have the supplies they need to produce projects that combine visual and performing arts with academics. In addition, they will be able to record, share, and extend their creations with the use of the camera.

Art is a uniting experience.

Whether it is with paint, performances, or posters, all students thrive on making connections and seeing patterns in art that will continue on far beyond first grade.
