My Project

Cooking together gives students time to share, bond, and work together. Food really has the power to heal our mental health! Over the last few years due to Covid and having to keep our distance from others, the effects of COVID-19 on our students have become evident in their socialization skills, ability to talk with others as well as feeling comfortable and safe in new environments. This club gives students a space to learn new recipes and baking/cooking techniques. Help me give my students the equipment and tools they need for cooking together (mixer, air fryer, pasta roller, cutting boards, aprons, cookware, knives, stockpot, rolling pins, food processor, spoons, baking sheets, colander).

Our Club is an open environment where all members share a love for culinary and can exchange personal recipes from the diverse cultures of our students.

During our club, students share interests with others who are also passionate about food. This club also give students an outlet to learn how to make quick and healthy meals and to learn independence in the kitchen which is better for our health. In this cooking club, students also learn appropriate terminology that help them to read and understand recipe preparations. During our club I always include a lot of visual aids to differentiate education for our English language learners as well as our students with disabilities!
