My Project

Our culinary arts & food studies students are energetic and fascinated with all things about food. They range from grades 9 to 12, and most come from low-income households. Many believe their only option is to buy cheap and processed food and that they cannot grow their foods in an urban setting.

The culinary arts school garden will allow students to grow fruits and vegetables from seed to plate.

Students will have much-needed time outside preparing the space, planting, tending, and finally consuming what they grow this semester. This project will be accessible to all students in the culinary arts department.

Equity Focus
