My Students

Our students live in a small town tucked away in the side of Oregon's Willamette Valley. The students that I have all came to me through our Agricultural Education Department. All of them are headed into technical or specialized careers, and each of those careers touches or can touch some aspect of rural life.

In a climate of uncertainty, our students are heading out into trade schools and colleges.

For the last twelve years, they have worked to reach this point in life only to have it be less defined than it has ever been before. It is my hope that I can give them a positive push out into full-time adulthood.

My Project

In our state, the schools are closed for the year. This means that for us, the chance to influence the learning of these young minds have passed. There are no more after school chats, help with classes, or chances to give guidance for life.

This project will allow our school to continue to influence the learning of these students as they leave home for college and trade school.

My hope is that as they use these tools they will grow into a successful tradespersons who return to their hometown and can give back to their community.
