My students a Thinkpad, doccam and projector to learn in the classroom. Unfortunately, due to residing in a low-income neighborhood, my students have yet to experience a classroom fulfilled with technology to please their minds and engage them.

My Students

I teach in Brownsville, Brooklyn; where there is poverty and murder taking over our community. Regardless, my scholars walk into my classroom daily, ready to count numbers, and enjoy math.

As a Special Education teacher, I am charged with making Math exciting and engaging.

My scholars have special needs and different learning styles, and as you can figure, how could I possibly differentiate and challenge my scholars without the help of useful technology? How can my scholars be college and career-ready without technology within our classrooms?

My Project

Technology is everywhere; except within the four walls of my classroom. This is an issue when you are working with scholars in the 21st century.

Without technology, it is nearly impossible to teach my special needs scholars.

With your help, you can incorporate technology into my students' lives! When used correctly, this technology will help prepare students for their future careers, and it also gives my students the chance to interact with their classmates more by encouraging collaboration and learning!

Furthermore, technology helps teachers prepare students for the real world environment, which is incredibly technological. We cannot expect our students to learn without the aid of technology, which is seemingly, all around us. As we become increasingly more technology-dependent, it is evident that in this classroom we need a projector, a document camera, and a laptop in order to ensure invigorating learning is successfully taking place, within my classroom. Can you help my students achieve their maximum potential?
