Cross-curricular Container Ship Project

Help me give my students a Lego set that models the global shipping container industry!

My Project

6th grade math and social studies students will use this Lego model to conceptualize how shipping containers work as clothing travels around the world as part of the global clothing production process. 6th grade math students will also calculate how many shoe boxes can fit into one shipping container. 7th grade math students will use this model to calculate scale. Having this Lego set will support hands-on learning as the students put it together, being able to see the inner-workings of a container ship. This will be a real-world connection to our videos about container ships.
