What I love about my kids the most is the desire to learn all there is about technology. I currently teach classes in computer programming, robotics, and web design. We also have a competitive Robotics Club that competes in the FIRST competition. We would like to share our 3D printer with others in building.
Being from a small farming community located in rural Wyoming, we have limited resources so our goal is to take what we learn in class and use it to help others in our school district.
This project entails us using our 3D printers to do just that. We will be helping science 3D print their solar cars and teen living with printing furniture for their doll houses they make for the elementary school.
My Project
The technology classes are working with the science department and the teen living department to use 3d printer technology to enrich their learning. Being from a small, rural town with the nearest "big" city 90 miles away, it is hard to get things we need.
We will be 3d printing solar cars with the science department and printing 3d furniture for the teen living doll houses.
The solar car project is the culmination of their solar unit having students design efficient cars that can be powered by the sun. The furniture we will be 3d printing is the final project for the designing and decorating houses. The doll houses are then donated to the local elementary schools for the kids to play with.
