My Project

I started out with a few extra skeins of yarn and crochet hooks I had laying around the house, and it slowly evolved into a growing club at my school! Through crocheting, my students thrive when they have a creative way to express themselves. I've found that through introducing my students to the fiber arts their self confidence has soared. The quietest students are working with others and making new friends through a relaxing craft. I have many students who struggle with emotional regulation and I often will find them furiously crocheting away when they otherwise might be storming off or causing trouble. My crochet club truly has a diverse set of students, and it's been amazing to see how they work and grow together.
