My Project

There is a link between a classroom environment and design and the impact it has on student engagement and achievement. Through the use of social studies posters, maps, and a globe, students will be better equipped to think critically and engage within my social studies classroom. Remote learning and remote classrooms looked very different during COVID. With these materials I hope to show students exactly what type of classroom they are entering everyday. A social studies classroom that values hard work, a questioning mind, and hopes that every wall and corner of the classroom has something a student can engage and learn from.

Highlighters, pens, pencils, and whiteboards will encourage students to remain engaged and play an active role in their learning process.

Students who have the tools needed to annotate and highlight will succeed in bridging the gaps they developed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additionally, I have noticed that the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a decreased attention span among students. As a result I hope the fidget bands for students desks and the fidget toys will help students let out energy while remaining focused and engaged in the lesson.
