Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students travel on average 1-2 hours to get to school every day and many of them have very challenging circumstances at home. In spite of all that, they are some of the sweetest and most kind hearted students I have ever taught.

My Project

I work with my students often through handouts, but they never have the ability to actually "hold" books that are related to history, politics, economics, and society. I am working on building a classroom library which provides a variety of perspectives and a wealth of primary source material. My students will have the ability to "take out" books for further research at home.

The readings from these books will also provide the basis for exciting and engaging classroom discussions.

In Global History, resources are often limited, so this would provide a great boost!
