This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am a resource teacher at elementary school. I provide support for any student if there is a need as well. This school year, our school district has been pushing the use of STEM. With implementing STEM activities, students have the opportunity to create/ invent different things, think abstractly, and learn the "why behind solving mathematical problems. My school focus is commerce and entrepreneurship and with students creating and designing different things hopefully they would be able to start their own business. Most students at my school are from low-income households but loves the use of technology.
My students are very tech savvy.
They love using their phones. When assistance is needed with my Smart Board, they are more knowledgeable than I am. I want my students to transfer the love of their usage of the phone to being able to express themselves through other technology related ideas and graphic/creative designs that is related to real world in STEM.
I am turning an area of my classroom into a STEM Center. The Cricut Maker 3 bundled requested in this project will be utilized in STEM projects that are fun and relatable. Students will be able to create designs and cut projects with the Cricut3 for projects and STEM challenges as well as many other projects. The students will love the fact that they will be able to see their designs and bring them to life making a real-world connection to careers and entrepreneurship. The PC will be used to watch different trainings and also see what they created along with space for each student to save what they created.
The Cricut 3 will allow students to create T-shirts, etc., which make my students feel more included which creates a positive learning environment that is conducive for learning.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
