Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Circuit-based materials we are requesting:

- Cricut Explore Air 3 Machine

- Cricut EasyPress 3 Heat Press Machine

- Cricut 13" Essential Tool Set

will provide hands-on learning experiences that allow students to engage directly with technology and electronics.

These materials will enable students to explore concepts like circuitry, design, and troubleshooting in a tactile way, helping to reinforce abstract concepts. This practical approach will not only enhance their understanding of the subject but will also build critical thinking and problem-solving skills. As students work with these tools, they will gain confidence in their abilities and develop skills that are directly applicable to real-world vocational settings.

The primary goal of this project is to help some students with autism develop vocational skills that will prepare them for future careers. By using circuit-based materials, students will learn about electronics and problem-solving in a hands-on, accessible manner. We aim to provide students with the tools they need to succeed in vocational programs, whether that be in electronics, engineering, or other technology-related fields. Additionally, we hope to build social and teamwork skills as students collaborate on projects, fostering independence and self-confidence along the way.

Our students are unique in their resilience, creativity, and determination. Many of them are part of a vocational program that tailors learning to their individual strengths, needs, and abilities. While students with autism may face challenges in traditional learning environments, they thrive when given the opportunity to engage with materials in a more structured and sensory-friendly way. This project will meet them where they are, providing a personalized and meaningful learning experience that honors their abilities and prepares them for success in the workforce.
