My Project

I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students with disabilities in Brooklyn, NY. They are a wonderful group of students with a passion for learning. I would love for my classroom to have a cricut so they can explore more with their creativity. A Cricut Maker cutting machine would be used to help make literacy, math and science come to life with hands on materials. The cricut would take care of the laborious task of cutting complicated shapes that could be used for student art projects, bulletin boards, and even classroom labels.

The addition of a Cricut Maker machine in a classroom creates excitement, fun and understanding.

Original creations fabricated by students, teachers and parents are planned and developed. Students customize their work areas, and create educational games, and learning boards. Informational text flyers and customized infographics for display in the classroom and library media center. Labels to mark areas and sections of the library encourages students to work independently. The possibilities are many and often generated by problem solving.

The Cricut machine runs all year long. It is especially handy at the beginning of the year when planning, organizing and labeling areas and projects that help guide students around the classroom or media center. The teacher plans for a project with instructions presented in an attention getting way on a poster, the wall, containers, or a binder. The Cricut Maker helps teachers stay organized, helps keep the interest of the learners and just makes our classrooms look neat, and more inviting.
