Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is an urban Title I school serving primarily African American and Hispanic students. We are 97% free and reduced lunch and we are a fully accredited school. We are planning for an in-person return and we are so excited to get our students back in the building!

My Project

We are preparing for an in-person return after a year of virtual learning and we are looking for ways to help students feel welcomed into our school community. We hope to make the environment warm and inviting while also making it rich with instructional content. We plan to incorporate foundational skills in a fun, creative way throughout the building. For example, we plan to embed sight words and multiplication facts on the stairs and along the walls, along with inspirational phrases that inspire and build character traits and social emotional skills.
