Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work at a Title I school in Hampton, Virginia. I have worked with fifth and second grade, and this year I am working with fourth graders.

I work in an awesome school with some pretty fantastic students.

As a teacher, I want to give them the world in order for them to succeed, but that is not possible for a multitude of reasons. I want to make learning fun, engaging, and creative for them. I want to make sure they have the tools to succeed. I want to help develop lifelong learners because I believe that is one of the best things I can do for them. These are things I can do.

My Project

My project is for a Cricut Maker and tools necessary to make it useful! A Cricut can help create an organized and labeled classroom. It also opens up a world of creative possibilities for my students as we can work with it to create a variety of visuals throughout the year. Bulletin boards can also be more fun, creative, and engaging with the various creations that can be made by using the Cricut and vinyl sheets. Word walls can be made with fun and creative fonts. In a Covid safe environment, vinyls can be created for social distancing marks on the floor and around the classroom.
