My Project

Many students were remote learning and stuck at home - oftentimes with limited or no internet access. Many assignments were on a screen with very little hands-on experience. Students struggled to learn how to take notes and writing and reading on their own was a huge struggle for students that had to stay home.

My plan is to bring class work off the screen to a hands-on balance.

The lapboards and graphing paper will be used in groups as students learn to collect and organize data into various graphs. The glue sticks, scissors, and compasses are for adding items into interactive notebooks and creating diagrams in their journals as well as to work on note-taking.

Students who struggle with reading and writing have access to "Talk to Text" on their school Chromebooks. It can get noisy with many students using Talk to Text and it picks up other voices. The headphones with microphones can allow a student to use the Talk to Text feature without interruption in their surroundings. They can also have passages read aloud to them in the headphones while they read along. Headphones with microphones help to keep students that need these features more private. Not all students at my school can afford headphones with microphones.
