My Project

Help me give my students project based learning materials for enrichment learning. Project-based learning (PBL) or project-based instruction is an instructional approach designed to give students the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills through engaging projects set around challenges and problems they may face in the real world. Our ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies teachers have come together to create an interdisciplinary unit on animal habitats. The students will be researching and learning about zoo and animal habitats that humans create and analyzing what the animals actually need to thrive and be happy.

In science, students will be able to identify patterns and trends in the data, which can be used to make inferences about the relationships between different variables. Students will also use the data and evidence to make justified conclusions about the cause-and-effect relationship between changes in the ecosystem and shifts in populations of organisms. In social studies, students will be able to analyze and reflect upon the topic or issue they are researching. They will conduct research to deepen their understanding of the topic. Students will demonstrate their knowledge and skills through reflection and research. In ELA, students will be writing informational texts to examine a topic and convey ideas. In math, students will be creating scale models of animal habitats. Zoos and animal habitats that humans create are not always sensitive to what the animals actually need to thrive and be happy.
