My Project

My students have faced numerous challenges in recent years, from interrupted learning due to the pandemic to the ongoing social and emotional strain of adapting to new learning environments. To foster creativity, build a sense of community, and support their social-emotional well-being, I am requesting resources that will allow my students to engage in meaningful, hands-on projects where they can create thoughtful gifts for their families and themselves.

We need supplies for two distinct, impactful projects:

Mother's Day Gifts: For Mother's Day, students will craft personalized planters, using planters, message picks, and paint pens. This project not only allows students to express their creativity, but it also gives them a chance to show gratitude to their mothers or caregivers. In creating something with their own hands, students will develop a sense of pride and accomplishment. This also offers an opportunity for students to practice mindfulness through art, fostering calm and focus in the classroom.

Holiday and Personal Gifts: We are also requesting sublimation supplies like oven mitts, kitchen towels, water bottles, and keychains. These materials will be used for making holiday gifts for families, as well as personal items for the students. Creating these gifts will teach students design skills, patience, and attention to detail. It also fosters a sense of belonging and pride when they give or receive these gifts, helping to mitigate the emotional toll of pandemic-impacted learning. Personal projects like these encourage students to think about relationships and shared experiences, a crucial part of social-emotional learning.
