My Project

As the STEM coordinator for my fourth and fifth graders, I would like to bring unique experiences that embed creativity and enrich the curriculum. The students that attend my school are hard-working and love to learn, especially when it is something that they are interested in.

Many of the supplies that I have requested will be used to apply knowledge of circuits to many real-world scenarios.

Students in both grade levels will be learning about electrical circuits. In particular, I would like to have students create wearable circuits. Students will be using the conductive thread and batteries to make wearable items that apply the concept of open and closed circuits.

In addition to the circuit supplies, I have requested some safety-related items such as heat-resistant gloves, cardboard scissors, and cardboard cutters. These items will protect my students' hands and fingers when they are working with hot glue and tough cardboard. My students are capable of creating really impressive projects, I want to make sure that they are protected and safe while they are using their creative minds!
