My Project

This past school year, the school community was affected in more ways than one may begin to imagine, as students strived to get back to a "norm". Our families are low-income families, that work hard, and value education. With your generous donation to this project, I will be able to provide my students with a stable and loving environment to learn and grow.

These materials will help to provide games and activities that will be used all year long to help build solid, positive relationships within our classroom.

Combining these activities with reading not only allows me to teach the language content but also allows me to help the children learn how to have positive conversations and relationships with one another. The canvases are used as a part of their positive growth mindset unit, and the games are used as a part of our positive relationship-building meeting times. Incorporating this time into our days and weeks throughout the year, the students find their roles as leaders, doers, and helpers. We learn to work together to accomplish our goals as a team and to use positive words when communicating with one another. It's a truly beautiful thing when you get to see it in action.
