We are from a small east Texas town. The school I teach at is a Title I school where most of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. More often than not, my students do not have access to technology at home. The kids love getting to learn in new and different ways! I want to provide an engaging form of learning that will help the students stay motivated! I would love it if you could help me reach my goal of giving my students the best learning environment that is possible.
My Project
We will use the Wiki sticks, letter tiles and rubber stamps to practice building words that follow our weekly phonics skill and spelling words. Building words in a creative way will help encourage and motivate the class to learn our phonics skills. This will also help them with learning to read!
Our erasers and straws will be classroom prizes that my students can earn by showing me they can make great choices.
First grade students love showing how helpful they can be and I love rewarding them for it! We will use the jumbo dominos during our math lessons to help with addition. The students will love being able to use these over sized manipulatives.
