My Students

I teach in a college town with a VERY wide array of kiddos. I have a few who have very specific learning plans and special needs. We learn together in an open air school. Basically we use bookshelves for walls. Some students have trouble focusing during tests due to the noise.

I have 18 awesome kids who are eager to learn and use their brilliant creative minds.

I have lots of wigglers who love hands on learning. I want to give them everything I can to make them successful.

The location of my school is great for walking field trips, and trips to the local university. I want to get my kids out and about to see the "real world."

My Project

The movin' seats will benefit my kiddos that wiggle and feel like they need to move. Research shows that some kids may use most of their energy and attention to focus on sitting still; which takes their focus off of the instructional activities. Creative Seating will help this because it requires their muscles to be in use while they are sitting.

This removes the barrier, and lets them focus on learning.

They do not feel the need to wiggle and move around while they are sitting still. In addition it improves posture, and decreases back problems. These cushions can be taken with them when they go to the carpet to sit on the floor.
