My Students

My school is nestled in a historic area in Houston. This, among others, makes my school truly special and unique. Because of its rich history and location, my school is a haven for both knowledge and cultural heritage.

My students come from a diverse background, and each day, they bring into our classroom, their various experiences, challenges, and joys.

These create a colorful tapestry for the learning that takes place in this Title I school. Their eagerness and enthusiasm to learn inspire me to continue to seek ways to make their journey in education more meaningful!

My Project

The supplies I requested for my students will provide them the initial push in becoming more engaged in reading and writing. When students are aware that their creativity is not limited by resources, they thrive! They become more creative and more engaged not only in learning new concepts, but also in applying what they learn in real life situations. With these resources, my students will be inspired to challenge themselves to become better readers and writers. When students are inspired to read and write, not only are we creating a more literate world, but also a more humane, compassionate world! The copy paper and ink cartridge will be used primarily for printing pictures and word documents for students’ projects. The chart papers, markers, pens, and other writing utensils requested through this project will be utilized by students in creating presentations in more authentic and creative ways. The pencil sharpener and paper cutter will be great tools in helping students create project efficiently. The mini-white boards and erasers will be used in checking for students understanding during instruction. All these resources and materials will ensure that students will not only succeed in their quest for knowledge, but also instill in them a lifelong love for reading and writing.
