Usually I have a catchy title to attract the eye. This one states it simply, but has a huge impact. The materials that I am asking for all deal with a student's demonstrating their knowledge of the concept at a higher level by creating a model. The materials I am requesting are Maglev trains and straw rockets for 3rd grade, electromagnetism for 4th grade and materials for 5th grade to show patterns in the sky. These students are inquisitive.
Having hands on materials make more of an impact on their level of understanding than just paper and pencil.
They are designing. Discussing problems with others, Testing out those theories. Finally, creating a final product that they have demonstrate why it worked or why it didn't.
