My Students

Pre-K is an exhilarating and fun age for students. My students are learning about letter-sound relationships, numbers, shapes, colors, and how to hold a pencil. They are always willing to learn and ask many questions. They love using hands-on learning, where they can make a connection in their growing minds.

I love going to school each day to watch their resilient minds grow.

In my classroom, we work together and cheer each other along. They are constantly teaching me with how fast they learn, and the types of relationships they build with each other.

My Project

When most people think about early childhood grades, learning about STEM does not usually come to mind. Most think Pre-K students learn about their letters and numbers. This is true, but they learn so much more as well. Students in Pre-K also learn how to explore through sensory and STEM materials. This project includes resources that will help my students learn about how things work. For example, the Magnetic Gears, will help students learn about problem solving and cause and effect. The Create a Path will also help my students learn about problem solving, creativity, imagination, spatial awareness, and cause and effect. These are skills that most do not think about when it comes to early childhood education.

Just because students are young, does not mean they do not have the ability to learn about complex skills involved in STEM learning.

Most of these materials in this project introduces students to the idea of STEM. It gives them an entry way to the world of possibilities when it comes to creating. This project also includes sensory materials as well. These materials will help encourage my students to think outside the box. They are always a great addition to any early childhood classroom that uses play to learn.
