My Students

The unique, young scholars that make up our class family are full of excitement, creativity, and joy. These Fourth Graders are incredible because they look out for each other and challenge each other to be their best. We help each other form good habits, like reading daily and saying positive comments to each other. Their love of learning shines through all topics and cultures.

The students of my classroom are movers and shakers because they always are trying to achieve the highest goals.

Their motivation to do better than yesterday is seen by all around us. Some difficult experiences help us grow and before we know it we are celebrating our success! I am thankful for each day we share together. I love this close knit group of learners that make small miracles every day!

My Project

The seven balance ball chairs will be rotated around each table so that each student has a turn to benefit from sitting or bouncing on the ball chair every four days. The use of these stability ball chairs will help my students reach their full potential, especially those with sensory processing disorders, ADHD and for those who have the need to fidget. My students will have the opportunity to practice good posture as they write stories in cursive handwriting. Our word productivity will improve when journal writing, too. While we are solving linear equations, we will be able to sit still, focus, and be engaged in our learning. On cold days, with our recess indoors, we can burn off excessive energy by bouncing on the balls.

The balance ball chairs will channel our physical energy in a positive way, allowing students to focus on their work more completely and reach their potential as learners.

Our behaviors and demeanor will be be enhanced due to the improved circulation our bodies will get while balancing on the ball chairs. With our boosted energy levels, who knows what we can achieve?
