Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are located in the South Bronx and are in a Title I school. They are filled with passion and enthusiasm to learn. Coming from low-income households and a high-need neighborhood. Regardless of their situation at home they still come in with smiles on their faces to greet their teachers and fellow classmates. Most who are coming from other countries who might not even speak English.

What makes them so special is that no matter what they've been through they still manage to come to school with smiles on there faces.

They are resilient, energetic, friendly and welcoming.

My Project

In a Pre-K classroom our students learn through play and interactions. My class has a love for art and are very creative. They enjoy making things out of playdough, clay, pom poms, pipe cleaners, etc. They love things like drawing, painting, and coloring. These materials will help my students creativity and learning.

Not only would this help my students learn and enhance their creativity but these materials will help grow their fine motor skills.

To us it seems like just playing but to them its the way that they learn to cut, shape, draw, and write. These materials are just some of what will help strengthen their fine motor skills helping them to later become independent.
