Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have a large student body. Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with a majority of our students receiving free lunch. Our school is an ethnically diverse school in the Bronx. Students Come from many ethnic backgrounds including English, Spanish, African, Arabic, and Asian and Indian backgrounds. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics as well.

Our school is home to a phenomenal music program with many talented students, which creates a strong school community!

I am looking to add supplies to help elevate our science program, and have more materials available to support my students learning.

I am looking to buy glue sticks, crayons, and markers for my 2nd and 3rd grade students. These materials will be used by all 2nd and 3rd grade students.

My Project

The new art supplies I am requesting for my second and third grade students will help my students create work they are proud to display! Many science projects, and science labs have a creative component, which require crayons, markers, colored pencils and glue sticks. Students enjoy being creative while using their science skills to explore and discover science concepts. Students love being creative and seeing their work displayed in the classroom, and on bulletin boards!!! With 12 classes using the art supplies, we constantly need to replenish as the crayons break and the glue sticks and magic markers dry up.
