Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are living in an area hard hit by COVID-19. They are struggling to get food to eat and technology to complete their learning. They miss school and their friends. My students are sharing their tablets or school iPads, if they have received them. Some are struggling to use their parents phones but have limited data to check our Google Classroom.

My Project

We are starting a geometry unit in math. My students will use the colorful play dough, mini-drawing boards, lead pencils, and chrome book to complete fun learning activities assigned to them in their Google Classroom as well as create their own fun art projects. Some of these projects are to create 3D shapes out of clay and count the faces, vertices, and edges. They will draw and label the sides and angles of 2D shapes on their mini-boards. This will allow them to engage in play as well as learn at the same time. The Chromebook will be used for distance learning and instruction.

They will use the word search books and pencils to relax and unwind in their free time.

These books will help improve their vocabulary, increase their spelling skills and work on fine motor skills while they have fun.
