Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The art supplies we are requesting will provide essential tools for young children to explore their creativity and develop key skills. At this stage in their development, children need opportunities to engage in hands-on, sensory learning to build fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and self-expression. These supplies will allow students to paint and create, helping them improve their cognitive abilities while fostering emotional expression. With access to these materials, they will gain confidence in their abilities and be encouraged to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and ideas visually—an important skill at any age.

Our students are incredibly resilient, curious, and full of potential.

Many come from low-income households and face challenges that can make it difficult to access the resources they need to succeed. Despite these challenges, they are eager to learn and explore new ideas. Art provides them with a unique avenue for expressing themselves in ways that words may not yet allow. They are often highly imaginative and can see the world in a way that inspires others. By providing them with the art supplies they need, we give them the tools to further develop these skills, build self-confidence, and feel empowered to share their voices with the world. Their creativity is their strength, and with the right resources, they have the potential to achieve remarkable things.
