Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are some of the most hardworking and dedicated students from varying economic backgrounds, family dynamics, and disabilities. Many of my students have performed poorly on standardized exams and have that their creativity has been hindered due to the focus on exams. I teach in an area where many individuals have immigrated to due to natural disasters. Faced with a new environment and at times, the first time in school, my students yearn for new opportunities to grow and better themselves in order to be among the first family members to successfully finish school and be citizens of their community.

My students are fearless when it comes to new tasks, they are intuitive, creative, and compassionate.

I hope to give them all the resources within my power required to thrive in their community.

My Project

My students love to show their creativity as well as use the latest technology. Many of my students are new to the country and are not exposed to using tools such as the Cricut. With this tool, my students will be able to work together to create display bulletin boards that show others what they are capable of doing when they are given to tools needed to succeed.

My students can collaborate and design items that they can then heat press onto clothing and proudly wear their designs on spirit days in the school!

These tools can help them in their future by developing designing skills and how to market their work in our consumer-driven society.
