My Project

Counseling can be difficult for many reasons, especially when we don't have the words to express our feelings. Art and creative materials can be used to help process and engage in different types of therapy. Often times the materials to do these activities need to be created and having the right materials is essential! Using the tools in this project can help design new projects for my students to engage in different types of therapies. Using evidenced-based programs with innovative materials can change how students interact and grow with their educational environments!

Using these supplies, such as the Cricut, to build materials for evidenced-based programs can help engage our students in new and innovative way.

Many of these programs do not come with handouts and having the ability to create materials can make a world of difference.

Additionally, art materials can make a lesson more engaging for children which can lead to increased retention of the subjects covered in our counseling sessions. Similarly, having games and visuals of the skills we are practicing can help with students generalizing the skills learned during therapy.
