This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is located in a high-poverty neighborhood, where many families are struggling, and almost all students receive free lunch.

My class consists of 17 kindergarten students. Nearly all of the students speak English as a second language, and their parents do not speak or read English at all. All of the students are very excited to be in kindergarten. They are all very eager to learn. They have all been doing such a wonderful job with virtual learning!

My Project

My classroom was lucky enough to receive a Cricut Air Explorer 2 from a previous DonorsChoose project. We now need additional materials to begin our projects. This project will allow our classroom to have custom Cricut cutouts to personalize the students' cubbies, supply bins, dry erase boards, tables, and more. Not only will it help us keep our room organized, but it will also help students take ownership of their own materials.

The Cricut allows for creativity in the classroom in so many ways!

We will be able to make personalized shirts or other items for special days in our classroom such as the 100th day of school, gifts for our parents, and our performances in assemblies.
