Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

How will the specific items you’re requesting make a difference in their learning?

The Cricut machine and its supplies will allow me to create visually engaging, customized learning materials like labels, flashcards, charts, and bulletin boards.

These personalized tools will support my students by making lessons more interactive and accessible. Laminating pouches will ensure the materials are durable and reusable, providing my students with hands-on resources they can use throughout the year without fear of wear and tear.

These items will make learning more engaging and meaningful, particularly for students with moderate to severe disabilities who benefit from colorful visuals, tactile activities, and well-organized, accessible tools to help them better understand concepts.

What are your goals for this project?

Enhance Accessibility: Use the Cricut to create customized materials tailored to individual student needs, such as visual schedules, manipulatives, and social stories.

Promote Longevity and Organization: Laminate materials to ensure they remain durable for repeated use and neatly organize them for easier student access.

Foster Creativity: Create an engaging classroom environment that promotes learning through visually appealing and interactive resources.

What makes your students special?

My students are hardworking high schoolers with moderate to severe disabilities who thrive with hands-on, visual, and personalized learning supports. They are eager to learn and grow but often need additional resources to access the curriculum and meet their goals.

What makes them extraordinary is their determination to overcome challenges and their joy in small victories. These tools will empower them to succeed by providing clear, organized, and creative supports to help them reach their fullest potential.
