My Students

"A picture is worth a thousand words." This is especially true in a classroom where children are so limited in their language and their ability to express themselves using words. We try to encourage the boys and girls to express themselves through drawings, paintings, and drama.

The boys and girls are primarily English Language Learners.

They come from a variety of different cultural backgrounds. Most of the students in the school come from poverty stricken homes where their basic needs are barely provided for. They are very limited in basic exposure to the world around them. During the time that they spend in school, they need to maximize on opportunities to express themselves in a variety of different ways. They really enjoy drawing, painting, and creating as a means of expressing themselves.

My Project

We would love to have a new easel that is age appropriate and easily accessible and user friendly for our preschool classroom. This will be a great tool and opportunity for the students to use to express themselves. Their thoughts come alive through their original paintings. We also need a storage unit to store a variety of different art supplies which the students can access easily to help foster creativity. We are also in need of some more art supplies for the students to enjoy using while creating their own personal art projects.

Donations will definitely help our classroom create a user friendly environment that is inviting and calls students to create and express themselves through a variety of different tools and modalities.

The students eyes will light up when they see the items that we will be able to receive through generous donations from kind people like you!
