I teach twenty-five, amazing fifth graders in Bellevue, NE! We come from many different backgrounds. Many are military, some have moved here from another state for parents' jobs, and some were born and raised in Bellevue. No matter what brought us together, we all bring something special to our classroom.
We have a fun time learning together!
We all know that we all have different experiences and we respect one another. I love to instill a love of reading into my students and see their excitement about new books. It brings a smile to my face!
My Project
Students will each receive a copy of the book, "Wonder," to do a class book study together. We will use the book to look in-depth at different comprehension strategies and skills, as well as writing skills and fluency. I picked this book for our book study because not only can we use it for reading strategies, but also for lifelong lessons.
This book teaches us about kindness, generosity and empathy, and overall, being a good person.
There are so many different lessons my students can take from this book. I would like to share it with them in-depth, where they can each independently read it and see the world through the author's eyes.
