My Project

My goal is to bring creativity and joy into geometry by making math more hands-on and expressive for my students. I’m requesting clay, chart paper, colored pencils, and markers so students can engage with mathematical thinking in tactile and visual ways. Clay allows students to physically model geometric concepts like solids, cross-sections, and transformations, deepening understanding through touch and creation. Chart paper and vibrant markers give students space to collaboratively solve problems, present ideas, and build colorful, engaging visual explanations of their thinking. Colored pencils help students personalize their work, making diagrams clearer and encouraging pride in their learning.

These tools will help students who may not always see themselves as "math people" connect with geometry through art and creativity.

My goal is to make abstract concepts more concrete, help students communicate their reasoning more clearly, and celebrate multiple ways of thinking and expressing ideas.

My students are special because they show up every day ready to try, even when math feels challenging. Many come from low-income households and don’t have access to art materials or supplies at home. Despite obstacles, they bring energy, curiosity, and creativity into the classroom. With your support, I can provide them the tools to bring their ideas to life and build confidence in math through color, collaboration, and hands-on exploration.
