My Students

I have been blessed with the sweetest class of 2nd graders! They are so amazing and inquisitive. We are a mixture of all different races and are about 50/50 boys and girls. A large percentage of my students qualify for free/reduced-price lunch. They are so motivated to learn and I am dedicated to giving them the best of myself! It's easy to do when they come in with huge smiles on their faces ready for a big hug. I want them to feel successful while learning. 2nd grade is a big year where so much growth occurs. I want to provide them with learning experiences that will last a lifetime.

My Project

Our school system has awarded us the awesome opportunity of having Chromebooks in our classrooms. Our students are learning to use Google Classroom (with Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides, etc.) to extend their learning. I want to give them the opportunity to use their creative little minds to design t-shirts that we can wear to represent our classroom, our school, and/or special occasions.

Creativity is experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun!

Who wouldn't want all of those things? This Cricut and the printable heat transfer vinyl will allow my kiddos the ability to design whatever kind of t-shirt they can dream up and have the ability to fully make their designs come to life. In addition to making t-shirts, we can learn how to also use the Cricut for making classroom displays , which I would love to have student input and help with. There's a leader in all of them and everyone has some kind of creativity in them. Often it just has to be found and brought out.
