My Students

Our students are extremely motivated to learn. They all want to be good readers and writers. They try extremely hard in their classrooms. However, some have difficulty attaining this goal. When students have difficulty, they receive extra help in these academic areas.

Students in general appear to have difficulty with the writing process.

They don't understand the steps that need to be taken to create a writing piece. This past year, the coaches along with the teacher spent hours creating folders to help the students with the writing process. This helped the students greatly with their writing skills.

My Project

Students need extra help when learning how to become good writers. For many children, the writing process is extremely difficult. In my school especially, since English is not many students first language, we try to scaffold how we teach our students by breaking everything down into many steps.

When using writing process folders, students are then able to break the process down.

They know where they are, where they need to be and how to get there. These folders will be extremely valuable in instruction of our students.

I have requested folders for both our younger and older students. My goal is to eventually have these folders for the entire school. Thank you for your help!
