This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

When students can join a school esports team, it becomes a social experience. Without a school esports club, passionate gamers often feel left out of mainstream school social life. Organized esports bring these kids into the fold. It can help them become accepted and respected members of their school community.

Esports programs can be integrated into schools through curriculums and extracurricular activities.

Some schools have reported improved grade point averages and up to 10% attendance increases for students who participate in esports. Esports can increase student engagement, especially for students who are less interested in traditional sports or classroom activities. Esports can help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Esports can help students find a peer group and increase socialization and relationships. Esports can help break down social barriers and promote inclusivity and diversity. Esports can stimulate interest in STEM fields and offer diverse career paths. Esports can provide a real-world environment for English language learners to improve their skills. Esports teams can be a place to tackle cultural issues that students face, such as internet culture, racism, misogyny, homophobia, and white supremacist groups.
