My Students

15 little feet walk across the floor of my classroom. 15 pairs of little hands write, draw, color, hold books, and give hugs in my classroom. 15 little learners enter my room waiting to learn about the world and I want to give them the best possible educational experience I can.

I teach 3rd grade to 15 amazing little learners at an inner city public school in an impoverished area of town where 100% of the students in my school receive free breakfast and free lunch.

My students are loving, caring, sweet children who come to school excited to learn because of what the faculty and staff at my school have promised these students and the community. We as a staff have made a very important commitment to our community...Every Student....Every Day...Whatever it Takes!! We do this every day because....WE ARE OAKCREST!!! In order to live up to this commitment it is so important to provide our students with the technology that they will need to continue to grow and flourish in a world that is technologically advancing by leaps and bounds every day.

My Project

My students will use these Chromebooks every day in the classroom as an extension of the day's learning as well as for unlimited research in all subject areas. My students will be able to access media online and will work towards preparing for the required online State reading and math assessments. I also hope to teach my students to use these Chromebooks to type weekly writing assignments. I feel that the exposure my students will have with this new technology will greatly improve their possibility of success.

With the presence of this technology in my classroom I can adjust the way that I present information to my students that better coincides with the new Florida Standards as well as the Common Core.

This technology will also prepare my students for smoother transitions throughout the public school system, as we are moving to a more technology driven world. I believe that this technology will help my students in a world that has not always favored them and their home situations.
