Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have been diagnosed with various forms of disabilities with their primary disability as Autism Spectrum Disorder.

My students have extreme difficulties and deficits in the areas of language, social functioning and they exhibit repetitive behaviors, interests or activities and differences in sensory input.

Although each of my student exhibits sensory input in their own unique way, through effective strategies their unique needs will be address to enable them be able to learn and one of these strategies is through the implementation of sensory approach and activities.

My Project

My students' primary disability is Autism. Most of them are severe and the cognitive area is their biggest deficit - communication and social skills.The learning shapes and color activity rug, circle time calendar will provide a warm, cozy place for my students to engage in group learning activities during circle time and provide organized classroom seating.

The literacy centers management chart, beanbag learning center will provide sensory, visuals and reinforcements while creating balance and coordination and boosting social skills by addressing my individual students' needs, promoting visual and auditory perception skills and stimulating language and communication skills in a relaxed and calming classroom environment.
