Creating Relationships on the Rug

Help me give my students comfortable seating. This is my first year of teaching, and I am striving to create relationships and a safe place for my students to feel comfortable to learn at their best abilities.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am a first-year teacher, and I want to invest in the future of tomorrow. Students should be able to learn in a safe environment that allows them to thrive. Currently, I have a rug that was donated to me by a retired teacher, but it is not large enough to accommodate all of my students.

As a teacher, it is my responsibility to provide my students with opportunities to create bonds via personal discussions on their level through the use of a new rug.

With the classroom rug, each child will have their own personal space in which to imagine and contribute to the discussion. This resource will be reused for not only this class, but for many more years to come.
