Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 4-year-old scholars come into my classroom with big inquisitive minds ready to explore and learn. A great way to know if they are comprehending the class read alouds, stories, circle time, routines, directions, rules, etc is through their artwork!

This tool is a 3-sided multi-acitivity easel for all types of creative children where they can express their understanding and communicate their ideas, feelings, needs, and opinions through painting, writing, and drawing.

From their artwork, it helps me to understand their needs and wants better.

In addition, my young scholars may not be able to verbally express themselves yet due to oral-motor delays or to a language barrier, and the best way they are able to communicate their needs is through art! Scholars will have the ability to choose in what way they want to express their thinking. After they have completed their artwork, the scholar and I will converse about their artwork and it will be hung, to their eye level where they can recollect ideas and admire their work! Ultimately, building self-confidence and self-esteem.

Furthermore, a standing easel is good for upper arm and shoulder strength, which in turn provides the wrist with more stable support, encouraging them to hold a writing tool in a more efficient and appropriate way.
