Help me give my students a visual; many of my students are visual learners and need to see a problem worked out as I provide them with explanations.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Students

My students are eighth grade students in middle school.

They selected to complete remote learning. Many of them have been learning how to work this new normal. Social and emotional lives have been impacted because of this pandemic. These young people are learning to persevere through learning in a remote environment from their homes. My amazing students are adapting to a different learning environment.

My Project

My Project

The use of a Wacom tablet will be used daily in my Algebra 1 classroom.

Using the workshop model in math, students come to the virtual class for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. The tablet allows me to help them in exactly what they are struggling with, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. This tablet is great to stop distractions for many of my students who have focusing issues and they miss important instruction from either myself or other students. By having this tablet, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus, in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy, as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
